Transport in Georgia: Getting Around Batumi, Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Between Cities
Metro, buses, minibuses, taxis, trains, airports and what they mean for apartment choice.

Urban transport
Tbilisi has a metro, and being near a station can greatly improve apartment convenience. Buses and minibuses add coverage, but traffic can change real travel time. Batumi is more compact, yet summer traffic and parking near the sea can be difficult.
Kutaisi is simpler, so walking distance, bus stops and access to city exits matter. Taxis are common, but daily taxi dependence increases the budget.

Between cities
Trains, buses and minibuses connect Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi. Airports operate in all three cities, but routes and seasonality differ.
When choosing an apartment, look beyond the map: stops, traffic, parking, driveway access, school, shops and work commute.

Practical checklist
- Check commute during peak hours.
- Assess parking before viewing.
- Walk to the nearest stop.
- Do not rely only on map distance.
